Administrative Assistant Position, Sacramento, Ca

Job Summary:
The administrative assistant is a line-staff position responsible for providing program support to VBOC and the DVBE Alliance staff. The administrative assistant works for a program that assists veterans with business development. The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Business Development Specialist.

Job Duties:

1. Greet clients of the program, assist and provide information as needed. Direct them to appropriate staff if required. Assist clients, if necessary, to interpret and complete program forms.  
2.
Answer client questions and refer to other programs and service providers as needed.
3.
Relay and resolve routine telephone and/or walk-up inquiries,
4. Perform a variety of office support and/or secretarial duties including composing and word processing a variety of standard documents and correspondence. Schedule calendar items and meetings, process forms, perform data entry, and establish and maintain records. Maintain inventory and order office supplies as needed.
5. Assist the DVBE Alliance with database management of California DVBEs two days per week as scheduled.
6. Performs special projects of a moderate to highly skilled nature.
7. Develop flyers and other marketing collateral for the program.
8. Pack, maintain, and ensure that necessary forms, documents, magazines, and other necessary paperwork are present at all Town Hall Meetings and other required meetings.
9. Other duties as assigned by the Business Development Specialist.

Required Job Skills:

1. Physical ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods, lift 25 lbs., and stand for extended periods.
2. Ability to type 45-words per minute.
3. Ability to effectively and courteously interact with the general public in a mature and discreet manner and maintain and overall positive and cheerful disposition.
4. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds including those with physical and mental health disabilities.
5. Knowledge and experience with contemporary office practices and procedures.
6. Ability to handle multiple tasking in, sometimes, a heavy-telephone, high distraction environment.
7. Advanced computer skills in word processing, CATS, database, and spreadsheet software.
8. Practical knowledge in English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
9. Ability to mingle socially with clients and agency representatives.
10. Ability to periodically travel within the State of California.

Qualifications:
Candidate must have a minimum of two years of experience at an administrative level. A college degree is preferred. Candidate must have clean DMV and a valid driver's license. Minimum use of personal vehicle required and must show proof of auto insurance. Strong preference given for Veterans status.

Offering:
Long Term Temporary Part-time, non-exempt position.

$10-$15. Per/hr
